The Compton Gate Condos is a 36-unit condominium development in the the Shaw neighborhood along South Grand. The project consists of two 3-story, 15-unit buildings and six 2 1/2-story townhomes. A groundbreaking ceremony for the development was held on April 7th, 2005.

Fire destroys under-construction condos in south St. Louis
No one was hurt this morning, but a mult-million dollar condo development in south St. Louis was destroyed by a four-alarm fire. The Compton Gate Condominiums at Grand and Flad were destroyed; the project was to bring more 30 upscale condos and six town homes to the Shaw neighborhood. Where waitresses once served pancakes and sausages, a 36-unit condominium development will rise. A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Compton Gate Condominiums was held Thursday at 2201 S. Grand Boulevard, the site of a shuttered Shoney's restaurant.
